The trials will be held at Sedbergh School in Cumbria

Four 10-year-olds from the Buchan in the Isle of Man will attend trials for the North of England Prep School Barbarians in Cumbria on Sunday.

Teacher Neil MacGregor said: "They're all extremely talented players and I am sure they will do well."

Bevan Rodd, Spencer Cope, Nathan Pope and Cameron Wheeler were all part of the Buchan team that reached the semi-final of the national tag rugby finals.

If selected the year six students will go on the represent the Barbarians against the Midlands next month.

MacGregor added: "They started out with tag rugby and will now be moving up to full contact. It will be a good test and one I am positive they will rise to."

Last year pupils at the Buchan School were presented with the Rugby Football Union's President's XV Award.

The Buchan was one of 15 schools or sports clubs in the UK to win the award, beating hundreds of UK-wide nominees.
