Rawlings joined Launceston from Pertemps Bees in 2007 |
Launceston captain Tom Rawlings has called on his players to show greater awareness around match officials. Launceston have already received seven yellow cards this season, including three in their 28-25 loss at Otley. "We've got to start getting on the officials' side," Rawlings told BBC Radio Cornwall. "We seem to be rubbing them up the wrong way because we've had tonnes of yellow cards over the last few months it is becoming a little frustrating." He added: "It's a hard situation to be in as when you're on the pitch you want to leave the ref alone and try not to get in his ear as much as a possible. | Some referees don't want to speak to you at all, they'd rather just run the game and then only speak to you when they want to |
"It's a balance between finding him at the right time to speak and not getting on his nerves because it can play against you." Rawlings also said that differences between referees need to be recognised when approaching them. He said: "Some referees don't want to speak to you at all, they'd rather just run the game and then only speak to you when they want to. "But others don't actually mind you coming to them as the the captain and speaking to them a lot."
