Jackson joined the Pirates from Natal Sharks

Cornish Pirates centre Nick Jackson is set to be out for three months after breaking his leg in three places.

The 24-year-old South African was injured during the Pirates' 40-15 victory over Rotherham Titans at the Mennaye Field on Sunday.

Jackson is now set to have an operation, although the injury is not as bad as first thought, as there appears to be no ligament damage.

Jackson made 26 appearances for the Pirates last season.
