Delaney's side lost 37-31 at Rotherham on 18 September

Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney says he is disappointed Sione Kalamafoni has been hit with a five-week ban from the Rugby Football Union.

The number eight was found guilty of alleged reckless use of the leg against Rotherham Titans' Jonny Hepworth by an RFU disciplinary panel on Tuesday.

Delaney told the club website: "We are very disappointed with the decision.

"Sione has never received a yellow or a red card - he is incredibly upset at the result."

The incident happened during the Green and Whites' away match with the Titans on 18 September.

Kalamafoni is banned until 16 November.

Delaney added: "[We are] currently awaiting transcripts from the ruling to weigh up our options."
