Bob Crooks praises Cambridge Rugby Club attitude

Cambridge Rugby Club director of rugby Bob Crooks has praised his side's attitude after the 43-22 win against Coventry in National One.

The club, which faces a winding-up petition, told players on Friday that they would not receive their September pay until the club was stabilised.

Crooks told BBC Cambridgeshire: "We said that we'll put up with what's thrown at us.

"We're not one-dimensional, we know what we're doing."

Cambridge are set to appear in the High Court on 10 November, but Crooks said the club was turning things round both on and off the pitch.

"We really don't want to lose what we're building here," he said. "We've had a few individuals who have not been acting in our opinion in the club's best interests.

"It's down to the rugby to put that right and it's down to the rugby to generate the support for the players."

"There's a bond now on and off the pitch and we really don't want to lose this."
