Fly-half Carlisle garnered a 15-point haul with his boot at Billesley Common |
Worcester ran in three second-half tries in 20 minutes against Moseley to remain top of the Championship. Edward Styles and Joe Carlisle traded penalties before Michael Maltman's converted try put the hosts ahead. Carlisle added two penalties either side of a Jake Abbott try and another Styles kick made it 13-13 at half time. Jonny May crossed for Moseley after the break before Warriors cut loose via Andy Williams, Callum Black and Tom Arscott to record a bonus-point win. Styles kicked the home side ahead after two minutes before Carlisle pulled three points back five minutes later to even the score. Moseley regained the lead from a Warriors scrum when scrum-half Williams lost his footing and was dragged into the forwards. The ball popped out and flanker Michael Maltman raced in unopposed with Styles adding the extras for a 10-3 lead. Carlisle drilled home another penalty to reduce the home side's lead and as Worcester started to dominate possession Abbott wrestled his way over for his try - converted by Carlisle. Worcester head coach Richard Hill made five changes at the break and his side started the second half with real intent but were set back when Moseley winger May ended a counter-attacking move. Andy Williams, Callum Black and Tom Arscott all ran in tries in a 20-minute spell to ensure the Warriors came away with maximum points and an eight-point cushion at the top of the Championship.
