Benjamin scored 17 tries in his first full season at Worcester |
Worcester wing Miles Benjamin does not regret his decision to remain at Warriors following last season's relegation from the Premiership. The 22-year-old academy product considered leaving Sixways just months after agreeing a new contract. He told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "I signed in January when I thought we'd finish in the top half of the table. "I did listen to other options as the summer came along, but I want to play here and make sure we get back up." The former England U-20 ace added: "A lot of the young guys like Jonny Arr, Chris Pennell, Matt Mullen and me have all come through. We have been here for a long time. | We have a strong squad and hopefully a lot of people who can get the crowd going. Worcester Warriors Miles Benjamin |
"We know the potential of the club and we want to stick it out. Northampton did the same and look where they are now." Benjamin's pace has helped establish him as a firm favourite at Sixways but he admits he hears very little when he is on the field. "I don't really hear the roar. I like the idea of being a player the crowd responds to and who can bring a bit of excitement. "That's something we should be doing this season. We have an exiting team and the crowd like to see the back three in space. "We have made good signings like Tom Arscott, who has a lot of pace, and Marcel Garvey is always flying up and down. "We have a strong squad and hopefully a lot of people who can get the crowd going."
