Worcester Warriors 48-3 Birmingham & Solihull

Richard Hill says his side is still some way short of its potential

Worcester Warriors ran in six tries as they beat Birmingham & Solihull in their opening game of the Championship season at Sixways.

Jake Abbott and Marcel Garvey both crossed the line in the first half as Warriors led 20-3 at the interval.

They then scored two quick tries after the break through Tom Higgitt and Rob Arscott to put the result beyond doubt.

Aleki Lutui then drove over from close range before the Warriors were awarded a late penalty try.

Worcester head coach Richard Hill told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"Birmingham were good as we thought they would be having watched them pre-season and they posed quite a number of threats to us.

"They entered into the spirit of the game as well and I thought it was a very entertaining game to watch.

"There were some good patches from Worcester but there were enough things for a coach to go back and say: 'Right, we have got a bit of a work to do as well'."
