Craig Reid's first penalty was his 50th goal for Newport County
Two Craig Reid penalties helped Newport County record their first win at top flight Conference level in 21 years.
Robbie Matthews opened the scoring with a superbly struck free kick to the top-right corner of the Kidderminster goal.
With half-time looming, a Keith Briggs hand ball gave Reid a spot kick, the striker netting his 50th Newport goal.
Jack Byrne's foul on ex-Harriers man Matthews gave Reid his second spot kick after the break, leaving the visitors without a win since the opening day.
Newport manager Dean Holdsworth: "It's a superb result and it could easily have been more, our passing and moving, the way we opened them up in the first half, was fantastic.
"We still need to be a bit more clinical, I'm still pushing the boundaries of what I want from them and they know I won't let them rest.
"I'm still looking for perfection, but some of the stuff we are doing is magnificent.
"It was disappointing that we switched off at the end, but I'm delighted with three points to get us off the winning mark, we've been on that fine line between drawing and winning games.
"We haven't been beaten [at home] for a long time, we're a force here and there's a lot of pride in that dressing room to make sure we carry on that record."
