Warwickshire booked their place in the County Championship Plate final with a 30-19 victory over North Midlands. The win clinched the Division Two North title and also returned the side to the top level of the Bill Beaumont Cup. The home side had to withstand a spirited comeback from their opponents, after racing into a 23-0 lead just after the half-hour mark. But coach Pete Glackin told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "We played for 80 minutes rather than in patches." He added: "We asked them to come out of the blocks really fast and make them make mistakes, which they did."
