Cipriani knows he is unlikely to play for England while he is in Australia

Danny Cipriani could play against England ahead of his move to Australia this summer after being named in the Barbarians' preliminary squad.

The fly-half has fallen out of favour with England manager Martin Johnson and has not played since November 2008.

His move from Wasps to Melbourne at the end of the season puts him out of England contention as Johnson will not pick southern hemisphere-based players.

Cipriani's Wasps team-mate Paul Sackey has also been included by the Baa-Baas.

Philippe Saint-Andre and Kingsley Jones will coach the Barbarians, who will take on England at Twickenham on 30 May before facing Ireland at Thomond Park on 4 June.

Cipriani won the last of his seven England caps in 2008 before suffering a serious ankle injury and falling out of favour with Johnson.

Despite being on the fringes of the squad, the 22-year-old fly-half was not selected for the 2007 World Cup in France, and his decision to join the new Melbourne Rebels Super 15 franchise on a two-year deal has all but ended his chances of playing at the 2011 tournament in New Zealand.

After Wasps' Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final win over Gloucester, Cipriani admitted some of his present club-mates had dropped hints about him changing his mind about leaving.

But he insists it will not happen, although he hopes to return to Wasps at the end of his contract in Australia.
