England international Danny Cipriani says he is optimistic of returning to competitive rugby for his club side Wasps in less than a month. The 21-year-old fly-half suffered a hairline fracture to a right fibula against Northampton on 4 October. Cipriani told BBC Oxford: "I'll be fit in three weeks' time for the second EDF game against Gloucester. "We are just moving my rehab up slowly now, and hopefully running by the end of next week. It is going well." He added: "We only get put back when we are 100% fit and I will be making sure I will be all guns blazing." Cipriani has had an injury-plagued couple of seasons, the most serious being a fracture of his right ankle picked up during Wasps' semi-final play-off victory over Bath in 2008. His most recent enforced absence was caused by a blow to his leg during Wasps' victory over Saints. "It is frustrating but it is always good to see when Wasps are winning, it makes you relax a bit more, " said Cipriani. "The fact the boys are doing so well is encouraging and is making me look forward to getting back to a winning side." Speaking at a London Wasps CoacHclass event for youngsters in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, Cipriani said that despite mixed fortunes in previous seasons, the foundations are now in place for future success at Adams' Park. "Last season was a difficult season for us but we grew as a team and we signed some very influential players in the off-season. "With our coaching staff if don't get to the final or top four it would be very disappointing as a club." Cipriani added: "It's the strongest [squad] I've felt since I have been there. There is a great mix and a great strength in depth, which is important." Wasps are next in Premiership action when they entertain Leeds Carnegie on 1 November and have been bolstered by the return of the influential Simon Shaw. The second row could prove his fitness ahead of England's autumn international against Argentina next month, and Cipriani says Shaw's presence for Wasps could also be crucial. "He is very important, an integral part of our side. I think he will come back raring to go. "It will be four months since he's played so he is going to have a lot of desire and passion to get on that rugby field."
