Cornish Pirates increased their Championship play-off hopes with a pulsating win at home against Bedford. Having taken a 10-point lead, the Pirates then found themselves behind at half-time following a Luke Fielden try and two James Pritchard penalties. Bedford struck first in the second-half with a converted try from Paul Tupai giving them an 18-10 lead. But the Pirates kept fighting and tries from Rob Cook and Gavin Cattle put them back in front to claim a famous win. Cattle's late try was his second of the game, his first coming in opening period, while Cook also kicked two conversions and a penalty. The Pirates are now second in Pool A of the Championship play-offs, level on points with leaders Bristol. Bedford host the Pirates in the next round of the play-offs on Saturday.
