New signing Adams is raring to go

Bristol new-boy Jack Adams has revealed he became very frustrated with his lack of opportunities at Gloucester and cannot wait to make his league debut.

The 22-year-old centre is due to start against Birmingham & Solihull on Saturday after recovering from injury.

"I was playing behind the international players and even though I might have a good game, the next week I was put aside," Adams told BBC Radio Bristol.

"I'm really looking forward to this game this weekend."

He added: "Hopefully at Bristol I can get a little more rugby. I want to be, like anyone does, the starting player in my position. I just want to play as much as I can."

Bristol travel to Birmingham & Solihull, who have come up from the old National League Two.

The ground at Sharman's Cross is a far cry from the Premiership venues many of the Bristol team will be used to.

"I've played there a couple of times and the boys won't be as used to the facilities there, it's no Welford Road," said Adams.

The Bees are billing the game as the 'Underdogs versus the Top Dogs' and Adams is confident Bristol will not come unstuck.

"We're just expecting a hard game and a lot of dog in it but if our players are mentally tough enough we should come out on top.

"The boys are expecting to win the game, there's no doubt about that."
