Rhys Jones has been called up for the Wales Sevens squad |
Cornish Pirates fly-half Rhys Jones has been selected for Wales in the IRB World Sevens Series' remaining games. With just two rounds left Jones will play in his first match at Twickenham this weekend, before appearing at Murrayfield the following week. He has previously played for Wales in the Youth and Under-20's squads, and ran out for the Barbarians last season. Jones topped the Cornish Pirates points-scoring list in his first season clocking up 181 points in 23 games. The 21-year-old was selected to play for the team ahead of the final two IRB Sevens World Series Tournaments. Wales, who won the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens, retain six of the squad who lifted the RWC Trophy in Dubai in March. Jones's team-mate Rhodri McAtee, who helped the team to victory, has not been included for the final two rounds.
