Plymouth Devils drew with Scunthorpe on Monday in the National League after a last heat decider. The Devils had a four-point lead going into the final heat after Matt Bates and Paul Starke put in a strong performance in heat 14. Scunthorpe's Bryon Bekker and Simon Lambert then narrowly beat Mark Simmonds and Kyle Hughes in heat 15 to bring the tie level. Matt Bates was in fine form for the Devils, winning five of his six races.
