Wharfedale 26-24 Launceston

Tom Rawlings scored two tries for the All Blacks at Wharfedale

Launceston suffered late heartbreak as they were edged out in their National Two game away at Wharfedale.

The Cornish All Blacks were behind for much of the match but took a 24-19 lead in the second half thanks to a second Tom Rawlings try.

But a late converted try by Wharfedale saw them edge the contest.

Rawlings' first try had made it 19-14 at half time after Wharfedale had led the match 12-0 early on before Jon Fabian's try closed the gap.

Launceston joint head coach Jon Hill told BBC Radio Cornwall:

"It was by far the best performance we've had all season, including the 100-point rout of Waterloo.

"We played some outstanding rugby today, 100-times better than Cinderford last week.

"We've moved on hugely and it's very, very pleasing."
