Redruth continued their push for promotion with a convincing 48-14 point win at home to Southend.

Winger Rob Thirlby scored a hat-trick of tries as the Reds secured a bonus point victory.

Flanker Mark Bright scored twice and there were also tries for wing Lewis Vinnicombe, prop Peter Joyce and hooker Owen Hambly.

Redruth are 10 points clear at the top of National Two ahead of Birmingham, who have three games in hand.
