Skelding played for Launceston on loan last season

Launceston have signed Exeter Chiefs lock Tom Skelding on loan.

The 26-year-old Skelding has been signed as cover for Scott Hobson who will be out for up to six weeks with a dislocated thumb.

"We're pleased to have acquired someone of Tom's standing," Launceston joint head coach Chris Brown told BBC Sport.

"He's a proven performer who's not seen a lot of rugby this season. He had a successful spell on loan last season and he's a quality line-out forward."

Skelding has made three starts and five appearances as a replacement for the Chiefs this season in National One and joins team-mates Gary Kingdom and Jason Luff who are also on loan at Polson Bridge.
