Hyde joined Otley from Leeds in August 2006 |
Otley captain Dan Hyde believes his side can avoid relegation from National League One. A restructuring of the league system means five teams will be relegated and Otley are 25 points from safety. Hyde told BBC Radio Leeds: "We always knew this season would be a difficult one, but we'll keep going game by game. "We go to Cornish Pirates next and we need to focus over the New Year period. Hopefully the boys will do that and we can hit next year on a roll."
Otley have won just two games this season and lost 66-10 to West Yorkshire neighbours Leeds Carnegie on Boxing Day."There is a great rivalry between the two sides, but I think there is lot of respect between the players of both clubs," said Hyde. "We wish Leeds all the best for what is hopefully their return to the Premiership. "We gave all against Leeds and I think that will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season," he added.
