Esher secured their first National One win in 10 games with a convincing 48-16 victory over fellow strugglers Otley. The seven-try victory moves the Surrey club into 12th place, 10 points adrift of safety. Director of Rugby Mike Schmid told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "We have been building up to a result like this for some time. "We have played really well over the last six to eight weeks and we are getting better every week." Esher face a tough trip to Nottingham on Sunday, 28 December, but Schmid believes his side are ready: "The good thing that has happened over the last few weeks is that we're not afraid of anyone anymore," he said. "We're growing in confidence and previously, maybe at the start of the season, we'd think going to Nottingham away wouldn't be a good fixture for us. "It's another fixture in front of us and the boys are confident we can go there and play. We'll throw everything at them and see what happens."
