Biggs has also represented England at Under-21 level
Winger Tom Biggs believes Leeds Carnegie have improved massively since the start of the season.
With half of the National League One term now completed Leeds top the table and remain unbeaten.
"I think we are a lot more confident in our game play now," Biggs told BBC Radio Leeds.
"The big improvement has been our defence. That let us down last season and we've worked very hard to tighten it up."
Biggs added: "That has come though due to the competition within the squad.
"The guys know they have to give everything and have to be the best or they won't be involved the next week.
"We had a long look at ourselves after last season and realised defensively we were not good enough.
"A lot of players are now working harder individually to improve it and it's clearly paying off.
Despite being only 24 years old Biggs is already Leeds record try scorer and his form has earned him a call up to the England sevens squad for the recent Dubai Sevens Tournament.
"Being involved with the sevens improves your core skills and sharpens all areas of your game," Biggs added.
"It's a great honour to pull the England shirt on, be it England students, England counties or England sevens.
"The amount of players that have gone from England Sevens to the full 15 shows it's a step that can be made and I want to do that in the future."
BBC Radio Leeds 774 AM and DAB has exclusive commentary of Nottingham v Leeds Carnegie on Sunday from 1450 GMT.
