Slade set to make Chiefs return

Exeter Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs Samoa international Chad Slade is set to make his first start of the season on Saturday.

Slade should have returned to Exeter in September, but visa problems on his return from playing in the Pacific Island Cup delayed him until October.

It meant the flanker missed much of pre-season and the start of the 2008-09 National League One campaign.

Since then he has been restricted to a handful of substitute appearances but will start against Esher on Saturday.

"I have played in a couple of games but it is good to get a start," Slade said.

"There is so much competition between the boys, so all you can do is put your head down and train hard."
