Southern Nomads beat Vagabonds 'B' 12-10 at King William's College on Saturday to complete the double in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield. After a scrappy first half, Vagas led 3-0 through a Danny Williams penalty. Nomads stared the second half strongly with Josh Samuels crossing early on before Billy Quine added a second try which Al Corrin converted to lead 12-3. A late flurry from Vagas saw Chris Hermann cross for a try but it was merely a consolation. Elsewhere leaders Ramsey B maintained their position at the top of the table with a 37-5 win away at Emerging Nomads. Chris King bagged two tries for Ramsey and there were also tries from Fintan Cummins, Mike Craine and Gareth Hooson-Owen, plus three conversions and two penalties for skipper Darren Ideson. Nomads' consolation try came from Kenny Desai. In the final game of the afternoon, Douglas B beat Castletown 30-3 at Poulsom Park. The Icelander known simply as Ragnar, picked up a brace for Douglas, as did centre Johnny Ledwidge with their remaining try coming from Joe Whitelegg. The rest of the points came from George Gadsby's boot.
