Esher saw off struggling Manchester 36-19 at the Pillar Data Arena on Saturday to move into mid-table in National League One.
Esher now sit in 11th place with 14 points as they push for a top ten spot.
Director of rugby Mike Schmid told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "We've had our best two weeks of training and two of our better results of the season.
"Not perfect, but what we're doing in training we're applying to matches which is encouraging."
Schmid also had praise for his defence: "I think we made one mistake all day, for their try, they didn't really get into our 22 or cause any problems in the attacking zone," he said.
"Our one on one tackling was better, our organisation was better and our trust in the system was better."
Esher now face a trip to London Welsh before playing host to league-leaders Leeds.
"We've got two very tough ties against full-time sides, the confidence is important," said Schmid.
"We need to have belief that we can play and compete with any side in this league, I think we can.
"It's important that our defence is sorted out because they'll challenge that and in those type of games you have to take your opportunities."
