Malton and Norton won the Tetley's Bitter Vase at Twickenham in 2001
Malton and Norton have received two national awards from the Rugby Football Union for their role in the community.
The club picked up the 'more volunteers' award and were runners-up in the 'club-school links' section.
Club chairman Stephen Armitage told BBC Radio York: "We were extremely proud to receive these awards.
"It's due to the hard work of people before me, and others within the club now, that has resulted in the us being recognised in this way."
Armitage added: "It's more a recognition of the importance of being not only a club which exists for its members but also a community benefit generally."
The awards are among 15 available in the RFU President's XV Awards and senior vice president John Owen came to the Gannock to present them to the Yorkshire One club.
Armitage said he was also proud of the high proportion of local people who go on to play for the first XV.
"On the pitch [against Skipton] were, I think, 15 players of whom 13 played mini junior rugby here.
"We feel the organic approach is the right one for us."
