Cambridge hooker Matt Miles says he is delighted to have returned to his hometown club after a decade away.
Miles began his career as a Cambridge youth and returned to the club over the summer after spells at Northampton, Birmingham & Solihull and Ulster.
"It feels absolutely fantastic to be back, from the moment I started playing rugby I wanted to play for Cambridge," Miles told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"I'm glad to be giving something back to them," the 26-year-old added.
Miles left Cambridge for Northampton whilst still at sixth form, but is back at West Renault Park following the club's massive summer recruitment drive.
Cambridge have started the new National Two season with back-to-back wins, although Miles has been forced to settle for watching from the sidelines as he continues to recover from a long-term injury.
"It all started 13 or 14 months ago as just a normal groin strain which developed into a hernia," he said.
Miles expects to be back in action before the new year by which time he is hoping Cambridge will be well on the way to the National Two title.
On Saturday, Cambridge entertain one of Miles' former clubs, Birmingham & Solihull, at West Renault Park.
"I spent three years there, three very enjoyable years, they're a fantastic bunch of boys," Miles said.
"They've change a lot in the last two years, with relegation they've had to shed a few players, but it will be good to see a few of the boys."
