Exeter Chiefs have announced their first pre-season side to take on Bristol at Sandy Park on Saturday.

There will be 12 new players in the 28-strong squad, including Gareth Steenson and the new centre partnership of Matt Cornwell and Bryan Rennie.

Prop John Andress will also play in his first official game after successfully recovering from a broken leg.

Premiership side Bristol's line-up will include England's Shaun Perry and Wales international Robert Sidoli.

Exeter's director of rugby Pete Drewett told the club website: "You can only train for so long and then you desperately need to get games. It is great to have a side like Bristol coming down. They are just the sort of standard we need to play.

"Bristol will be bringing some of their full internationals and all of our great supporters will have missed coming down here so we are expecting a good day at Sandy Park on Saturday."

Exeter squad: Dan Parkes, Neil Clark, John Andress, Lewis Stevenson, Dan Tuohy, Tom Johnson, Alan Miller, Richie Baxter, Clive Stuart-Smith, Gareth Steenson, Josh Drauniniu, Matt Cornwell, Bryan Rennie, Matt Jess, Gary Kingdom, Ben Moon, Simon Alcott, Chris Budgen, Chris Bentley, Kevin Barrett, Stephen Ward, Mark Fatialofa, Tom Skelding, Chris Cracknell, Richie Pugh, Andy Miller, Nic Sestaret, Emyr Lewis.
