Chiefs recruit Navy lock Cormack

Exeter Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs have made Royal Navy lock Marshall Cormack their 16th signing ahead of the new season.

The 29-year-old, who also played for Bridgewater and Albion last season, is the Chiefs' third Navy player after Josh Drauniniu and Dan Parkes.

Cormack trained with the Chiefs briefly at the end of last season.

"Marshall came to our attention through some great performances for the Navy and Bridgwater & Albion," said Chiefs director of rugby Pete Drewett.

"We are very grateful that the Royal Navy felt that Marshall would improve his rugby skills further through regular training and playing with Exeter Chiefs."

Cormack has been given a year out of the Navy in order to play for the Chiefs.

Exeter are hoping that they will be able to gain promotion to the Premiership after coming second last season to Northampton.
