Bay's Pellow steps down as coach

Ricky Pellow
Scrum-half Pellow will continue to play for the club

Mounts Bay's Ricky Pellow is to step down as a coach at the club for the forthcoming season to concentrate on his role as a player.

The 29-year-old had a dual role as player and coach last season.

The scrum-half is citing work and personal commitments for his decision to scale down his role at the club.

"It's very disappointing for us and not ideal timing, but we understand Ricky's reasons," Mounts Bay president Michael Leah told the club website.

"I have a huge amount of respect for Ricky Pellow and he has played a big part in getting the club to where we are today.

"He says he feels upset about all this and the timing of it all, but he is taking his Level Four coaching course and that, along with other things, he feels has to come first."
