A trio of players from the South West played in the England Counties 27-3 win over a USA select side in New York on Friday night.

Mounts Bay's Tim Mathias, Plymouth Albion's Mike Denbee and Launceston's Steve Pape all started the match.

England scored tries through Fylde winger Oliver Brennand, Scott Rawlings and Ben Coulbeck of Manchester and two for Blaydon's Andy Fenby.

The Counties side will face the USA select again on Monday night.

They then travel up to Canada to face a Canadian select side on Friday, 13 June.
