Denbee is looking forward to starting for England Counties |
Plymouth Albion flanker Mike Denbee is ready to play for England Counties against the USA Eagles on Friday night. The Somerset man is enjoying his first taste of England Counties action and has made the starting XV for the game. Denbee is one of three south west men on the North America tour, along with Mounts Bay and former Albion player Tim Mathias and Launceston's Steve Pape. "I wasn't expecting to get into the starting line-up for the first game, but now I'm fighting fit," he said. The counties side will play the USA Eagles again on Monday 9 June before facing a Canada select side on Friday 13 June. "The last game in Canada is being viewed as the Test match, so I've got to put in a big performance on Friday so I'm in with a shout for that match. The last thing I want is not to play well and miss out on that," Denbee added.
