Jersey are hoping to reverse last year's disappointment |
Jersey director of rugby Dai Burton thinks Saturday's Siam Cup with Guernsey will be closer than expected. Burton's side are favourites after gaining promotion to London One, but he thinks the fact that Guernsey are at home "means they have the advantage". "Guernsey just narrowly missed the play-offs to get into London Two South," he told BBC Radio Jersey. "We've just got out of London Two South, so there's not really far between us." "The fact we're in Guernsey means they have the advantage. On paper, yes we're the favourites, but in reality it's going to be a very even match," Burton added. Guernsey scored one of their most famous ever victories in the Siam Cup when they beat Jersey 17-8 at St Peter last year.
