Wasps continued their charge towards the play-offs after 19 points from Danny Cipriani on Saturday helped them to a fifth straight Premiership win.

The home side ran in seven tries with Riki Flutey, Pat Barnard and Cipriani all going over before the break.

Cipriani converted all three tries and did the same with the efforts from Simon Shaw, Tom Voyce and two from Mark van Gisbergen in the second half.

Tries from Matt Cox and Matt Mullen were little consolation for Worcester.

With three league games in just eight days, Wasps coach Shaun Edwards shuffled his pack with England internationals Joe Worsley and Tom Voyce returning to action after long spells out with injury.

Worcester, unbeaten in four matches, had the first chance to put points on the board but Shane Drahm's penalty sailed wide on three minutes.

From then on Wasps dominated and Worcester's cause was not helped when Cox was sin-binned for foul play midway through the first half.

While he was off the field both Barnard and Cipriani extended their side's advantage.

Wasps skipper Lawrence Dallaglio was sin-binned in the second half and then with 10 minutes to go, the gloss was taken off Wasps' performance when replacement Dave Walder was stretchered off with what looked a bad injury.

Wasps director of rugby Ian McGeechan:

"We knew that when we had everyone back from injury we could perform - there is a really good spirit in the squad.

"I think psychologically the three wins we had during the Six Nations were a massive boost for us. The players have come back into a winning squad.

"Worcester are a decent side these days with a bit of continuity so all in all I am really pleased with the rugby we played.

"We knew we had to make sure that we did what we wanted to do tactically and I thought everybody played their part."

Worcester director of rugby Mike Ruddock:

"We are not totally downbeat even though the loss hurts and I think our younger players learnt a lot tactically and from the professionalism and quality of the Wasps display.

"In the first 10 minutes I thought we played some great rugby and we had good shape to us and good ambition but we missed a penalty and couldn't maintain it against a very good side.

"We probably tried to play a bit too much rugby and made a few errors and allowed Wasps to capitalise on them - which they do so well. But they deserved the win and were the better team by far."
