Coach Michael Maguire praises Wigan Warriors youngsters

Wigan

Wigan coach Michael Maguire has heaped praise on the impact the younger members of his squad have had.

Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, Maguire said: "Our young kids have come through, had their opportunities and are taking them.

He added: "They're working hard and they see there is improvement in what we're trying to do."

Wigan currently sit top of the Super League table and are already guaranteed a place in this season's play-offs.

Academy graduates Chris Tuson, Liam Farrell, Harrison Hansen and Lee Mossop have all had notable breakthrough years.

They add to last year's stand-out graduate Sam Tomkins, who won last season's Young Man of Steel award. Maguire insists he will continue playing members of his squad who perform well, regardless of their age.

Adding: "If they perform, they get the opportunity. I said that when I first came here and I like to think we're doing that week in, week out."
