Pryce signed for Wigan in December 2007 |
Wigan coach Brian Noble will adopt a cautious approach to reintroduce Karl Pryce back into Super League. The code convert played made his second appearance for the Warriors since signing from Gloucester in 2007 in the 28-24 win over Huddersfield on Sunday. A foot injury kept him out for most of last season, but Noble is keen his rehabilitation is taken slowly. "We won't see the best of Karl until he is 100% physically fit because he has not played for two years," said Noble. "We've got to persevere and nurture him rather than expose him too much. But I am pleased." The 22-year-old scored two tries on his Warriors debut in the 44-4 victory over Warrington last month. | 606: DEBATE | Although Noble insists Pryce is not guaranteed a starting place in Wigan's Super League opener against Wakefield on 15 February, he is content with his progress. "To have him back out there is really pleasing for us," said Noble, who gave Pryce his Bradford debut aged just 17. "He showed that he's getting there." Former Great Britain prop Stuart Fielden also made his first appearance at the Galpharm Stadium since undergoing surgery on both feet. The former Bradford player's involvement was cut short when he was sin-binned for a late tackle on Huddersfield scrum-half Luke Robinson, with Noble opting to rest him for the rest of the match. "I was happy that he got through 25 minutes," Noble said. "I'll give him a bit more game time next week."
