Pryce made just three first-team appearances for Gloucester

The 21-year-old has left Guinness Premiership outfit Gloucester after failing to make an impact and has joined Wigan on a two-year deal.

The centre scored 138 points in 52 appearances for Bradford, including 17 tries in 25 appearances in 2005.

"Karl has the attributes of both pace and power and is a really exciting prospect," said Wigan boss Brian Noble.

"He is a player who I saw progress through the ranks at Bradford Bulls and played a huge part in the club's academy success in 2004 and then made an impact in the first team.

"He knows where the try-line is and can play a number of positions in the back line."

BBC Sport understands Bradford will receive about �30,000 in compensation because they retained Pryce's rugby league registration when he left to change codes.

Pryce, who is Wigan's fourth signing for 2008, will boost the club's options for the start of the new season with winger Mark Calderwood out injured until March.

"I am delighted to be given the opportunity to join Wigan Warriors and work again with Brian Noble," said Pryce, who had almost two years remaining on his contract with Gloucester.

"When I learned of their interest in me it was an easy decision to make. They have some quality players and I am really looking forward to being part of the club at this exciting time."

Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan said: "Karl is another excellent addition to our squad and is probably the final piece in our jigsaw for 2008.

"He is young and English and is powerful, skilled and a try-scorer. The fact that he has always been a Wigan supporter was a bonus in effecting the deal."

Pryce's time at Gloucester was hampered by injury and he made just three first-team appearances for the Cherry and Whites.

He also spent time with National League One side Moseley, who have an arrangement with Gloucester which gives them access to the Premiership club's young players.

Gloucester boss Dean Ryan said: "Karl is a talented and gifted rugby player and has worked hard but we all felt his future development in the game was best served by playing regularly in an environment he was familiar with.

"It is with considerable regret his time at Gloucester was not more fulfilling and we hope he goes on to have a very successful career with Wigan Warriors."
