Noble has yet to win a trophy with the Warriors |
Wigan coach Brian Noble has ended speculation over his future by signing a new contract with the club. The former Great Britain coach had been linked with a move to the Catalans Dragons, whose coach Mick Potter will join St Helens next season. The new deal will keep Noble at Wigan for at least the next 18 months with an option of a further year beyond that. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club but my job is only part done," said Noble. "I am delighted to have signed this new deal and look forward to delivering a bright future to the marvellous Wigan fans." Noble, who moved from Bradford to Wigan in April 2006, was out of contract at the end of the season and had also been linked with a move to Australia. | 606: DEBATE |
Wigan chairman and owner Ian Lenagan said that Noble's signing was key to his view that stability is an essential part of rebuilding the club in the medium-term. "Brian and I shook hands on a deal two weeks ago following five months of working together and planning for Wigan's future squad," he said. "The work he has done over the past two years has strengthened the club's organisation and standards and I look forward to working with Brian to capitalise on that base."
