Widnes duo Mark Smith and Simon Finnigan have signed contract extensions with the Super League club. Former Wigan hooker Smith has committed himself to the Vikings until the end of 2008 while loose forward or half-back Finnigan has signed for another year.
"They are two of the new breed of young professional players that we need at this club," said coach Frank Endacott.
"They both have great attitudes and work ethics and will continue to improve for some years yet."
