Fans fund Peachey Widnes transfer
Widnes
Former Australian international full-back David Peachey is to join Widnes on a two-year deal from 2006, with the deal partly funded by fans.

Vikings supporters have pledged 20,000 towards the deal to bring him to the club after 11 years with Cronulla.

"I'm certain the club can once more attain their position as a club that challenges for honours," he said.

"I've coached against him many times and know how dangerous he can be," said Widnes coach Frank Endacott.
