King has scored eight tries in seven league appearances this season

Warrington Wolves centre Matt King says he remains undecided on his future, but is in discussions with the club.

The 30-year-old Australian is out of contract at the end of season at the Halliwell Jones and is considering a return to the NRL.

"I've got a few options to weigh up," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"Hopefully within the next two-to-three weeks everything with the contract will be sorted and one way or the other we'll come up with a decision."

King joined the club from Australian side Melbourne Storm in 2007 and has become a popular figure at the club.

"I've been very open with Smithy [head coach Tony Smith] but the owner as well, and I get along really well with those guys," he added.

"They know of my desires next year and they also know that I'm an Aussie and at some stage I'm going to want to go home.

"Whether that is next year or whether I sign another contract with Warrington and then go home, I still don't know."

King, a former test centre, who won the Tri Nations with Australia in 2006, admitted that he feels contract matters are often harder in rugby league due to decisions being made half-way through the season.

"We're not in a position like footballers are," King continued. "Take Carlos Tevez for instance, who played this season and won the FA Cup and now gets a transfer window where he knows he can leave.

"As rugby league players, we have to make up our minds half-way through a year.

"If I was to go home at the end of this season and if we miss out on the Super League or another Challenge Cup, then the boys do it next year when I'm back home - that would be a pretty bitter pill to swallow.

"But that's a decision I need to make and I'd love to think that regardless of what I'm doing next year, we can win the Super League this year."
