Warrington stand-off Simon Grix says competition for places at the club can help their bid for honours this season. The Wolves have won their last three games since losing on the opening day to Huddersfield. Grix told BBC Radio Merseyside: "We've got plenty of players waiting in the wings who are more than ready to take the shirt off your back. "If you have a bad game your shirt's up for grabs. You've got to do well when it's yours." Grix believes things have certainly improved for Warrington since losing 28-18 to Huddersfield at the Millennium Stadium last month, highlighted by their 40-24 victory over Leeds on Saturday. | We're probably better prepared and ready than we were last season and we've got more big game experience behind us |
And he believes the squad is strong enough to compete for a Grand Final place, despite also looking for a third successive Challenge Cup. "That was one of those days when we didn't turn up as a team or individually, and Huddersfield blasted us off the park," added the 25-year-old. "We're probably better prepared and ready than we were last season and we've got more big game experience behind us. "I don't think the Challenge Cup is going to be on the back burner, I think we'll be doing our best in all competitions."
