Harvey impressed with three tries in a pre-season friendly against Widnes |
Young Warrington half-back Craig Harvey has retired from rugby league at the age of just 22 - to concentrate on a career in the oil industry. Rugby union convert Harvey, who was on loan at Swinton last season, impressed in Warrington's pre-season matches. And he was just a fortnight into another loan spell with Super League backmarkers Wakefield Trinity. He put his off-field career in the oil industry on hold when called into Tony Smith's first team squad last season. But he has now opted to return after his one-year sabbatical. A Warrington club statement confirmed: "The club wishes Craig well for the future and thanks his employers for keeping the position open for him at the company."
