Smith saw lessons to learn from the Leeds defeat |
Warrington coach Tony Smith believes his team are going in the right direction despite their 26-16 Super League defeat by Leeds on Friday. At the midway point in the season, the Wolves have 20 points and sit second. "We're doing OK and we're learning a lot as a team and as a club," Smith told BBC Radio Merseyside. "We're enjoying what we're doing and against Leeds it wasn't as enjoyable as other nights but we'll learn heaps of lessons from it." Warrington are the second highest point scorers in Super League and also have the meanest defence, only conceding 208 points so far. It is something that gives Smith and his squad optimism for the remainder of the campaign. "I'm quite proud of the way the players have gone this year so far," Smith added. "I'm happy to be part of it. It's exciting and I'm looking forward to the second half of the season."
