King has a four-year deal with Warrington Wolves |
Warrington coach James Lowes has defended centre Matt King. The Australian signed for the Wolves in July last year but has been criticised for his form this season. But Lowes told BBC Radio Manchester: "He's a bit low on confidence because of some of the stuff that was said about him. "These guys take a little while to settle in to the culture on and off the field and the pressures that come with being a big signing." King scored two tries in Warrington's 60-24 victory over Wakefield on Sunday but Lowes has insisted the best is yet to come from his new signings. | These people who are calling him, they're probably people who've not watched Matt play |
"The benefits will come from Kingy and with the likes of Michael Monaghan and Chris Hicks over the next few years, once they're in to the game. "These people [who are criticising him] are probably people who've not watched Matt play, probably never seen him live. "They don't see what he tries to do at training and the work he does."
