James Lowes will now take his team to Perpignan on Saturday |
Warrington caretaker coach James Lowes has been given the job until the end of the 2008 Super League season. The ex-Salford assistant took over on a temporary basis after the exit of Paul Cullen three weeks ago and has led them to wins over Harlequins and Hull KR. Lowes told BBC Radio Merseyside: "It means I have to work hard until the end of the year and I'll have a good go at doing that. "The board offered us the job and you take it from there." The former Great Britain hooker now has 10 games to stake a claim for the job on a permanent basis beyond the end of this season. Lowes added that the short-term nature of his current contract is not a cause for concern. "It was never an issue for me." he said. "I enjoyed the job whether it lasted two games, four games or one game. "It was never a concern, I never lost any sleep over it so I'll just continue in the same vein. "In professional sport there is always pressure and you have to deal with that. "I'm going to enjoy every moment of it."
