Warrington claimed their first win in four games thanks to a strong second-half display against Harlequins. Chris Riley and Louis Anderson gave the Wolves, under the guidance of caretaker coach Jimmy Lowes, the perfect start. Tony Clubb and Michael Worrincy ensured the sides went in level at the break but the Wolves scored 24 points without reply at the start of the second half. Martin Gleeson, Jon Clarke, Matt King and Michael Monaghan all scored as they held off a late Quins charge to win. The Wolves took the lead after quarter of an hour when Clarke's break found Riley and Hicks added the extras. King could have extended the lead but knocked on with the line at his mercy but Warrington were soon in again when Louis Anderson crossed after a break by Monaghan. Clubb powered over after good work by Scott Hill and Chris Melling and after Melling was stopped short of the line just before the break, his offload found Worrincy. The Wolves began the second half with four tries in 20 minutes as the Quins' defence struggled. Gareth Haggerty and Rikki Sheriffe ensured the London club made a game of it but Riley got his second try on the final hooter to seal the win.
Warrington caretaker coach James Lowes "Everything is still up in the air as regards the job and I don't really know what's going to happen. I will just keep my head down, keep working and enjoy it while it lasts. "It was nice to win and it was great to see the players with a bit of confidence. We produced the stuff we have worked on in training and that is great. "It has been a tough couple of weeks for everybody and we are not kidding ourselves. We still have a lot of work to do but it was fantastic to see the boys playing with a smile on their face." Harlequins coach Brian McDermott "We are letting in too many easy tries at the moment. I would rather teams have to work hard to score against us but that wasn't the case today. "For probably the first time since I've been here skill let us down. We didn't have much ball and you will always struggle when that is the case. "There was a lack of discipline and poor skill levels but we still gave it a good go."
