King spent more than 10 years at Hull |
Wakefield Wildcats have confirmed the signing of Hull FC prop Paul King on a 12-month contract. King, 30, is a straight replacement for overseas forward James Stosic, who was released because of quota restrictions. Wakefield coach John Kear said of his new signing: "He is a quality player with a shrewd rugby league brain." King, who has played for Great Britain and England, had a year left on his contract but was allowed to leave the the Black and Whites by mutual consent. Kear knows King well from his time in charge of Hull. The powerful forward was part of the team that shocked Leeds in the 2005 Challenge Cup final. | 606: DEBATE |
"I'm delighted that Paul has agreed to join us," added Kear. "I worked with him when I was coach at the KC Stadium and have a great deal of respect for him, both as a man and as a player. "He's a very experienced player who has appeared at the highest levels of the sport and will be a valuable addition to our squad for next year. He has still got plenty to offer in Super League." The Wildcats have also agreed a new two-year contract with Colin Sanctuary, head of strength and conditioning, who becomes the club's head of sports science.
