Wakefield Wildcats scrum-half Danny Brough has apologised to head coach John Kear following last week's breach of club discipline.

Brough, along with prop Danny Sculthorpe, was banned for seven days and will not be available for Sunday's Super League game with Huddersfield.

"I have apologised to John and the club for my actions last week," said the 26-year-old Scotland international.

"I am just looking forward to getting back and playing with the team again."

Kear, who had previously expressed his disappointment at the actions of both Brough and Sculthorpe, reacted positively to the apology.

"I am really pleased with how Danny has responded this week and we are all looking forward to him joining us for training on Monday," he said.

"As far as we are concerned the matter is now closed and Danny rejoins the team as an intricate part of our set up."
