Wakefield insist Moore's Super League career is not over |
Wakefield Wildcats have revealed prop Richard Moore has been diagnosed with Crohn's disease. The club released a statement on Wednesday after speculation about the 27-year-old, who had lost almost two stones in weight. It said: "Although a very serious illness, Richard and the club view this diagnosis in a very positive manner. "Medication can now be used and once this treatment has been carried out Richard can recommence his career." Crohn's disease is a long-term illness that causes inflammation in the gut. It can affect any part of the digestive system but most often occurs in the ileum (part of the small intestine) and colon. Moore, who attracted interest from Wigan this winter, had spells with Leigh, London Broncos and Bradford before joining the Wildcats in 2007.
